About Me

Two Sentence Bio:

Tehondi (Teh-hon-dee) is a motivational Hip-Hop artist originating out of Chicago. His style consist of mixing hard hitting beats and ear catching hooks with self-empowering lyrics to create truly uplifting hip-hop music.

Short Version:

Tehondi (Teh-hon-dee) is an independent Hip-Hop artist originating from Chicago. Growing up in a rough neighborhood, Tehondi’s life was a constant barrage of combating bullies, escaping the gang-violence which poisoned the streets, and lamenting his poverty stricken community. The negativity and hatred he experienced every day sparked a dream within him. Tehondi wanted to find a way to build a social movement. He began to walk a new path and seek a better understanding of human nature and connectivity. He knew that one could not wait for a hero to save the day, he had to be the one to bring about the change he wanted to see.

His motivational rap journey officially began with Album 1: Become the Savior (2014). A multitude of great albums have spawned since.  As life went on and exciting things took place, Tehondi's path towards greatness had also faced many difficult and dark turns. You can hear this progression throughout his sophomore album Hiatus Days Over (2018) and junior album Sad.Boy / Mad.Boy / Monster.Boy (2020/2025).  As we all do, follow Tehondi's journey of getting lost in the world and finding his way back to his greater purpose. Tehondi's musical style is hard hitting and adventurous. He is unafraid to both speak motivational life into his art and embody the darkness of his reality at the same time.  Enjoy the ride.

The legendary, long awaited "Truth Ain't Dead" album will come in time…

Prod. by Deafpad.

Imagine a Superhero putting their normal human love interest in check b/c they think the hero is desperate & HAS to be with them. WHAT?? That is the vibe of this fun song. Tehondi is going off in a cocky, but smooth way about how he doesn't have to settle for anyone b/c he has __! Everyone can relate. At some point, we recognize our worth. Tehondi, however, takes it too far to the point of arrogance. This is the 2nd Single released from his upcoming album “Sad.boy / Mad.boy / Monster/boy (Deluxe Edition)” which will release on May 9th 2025. Just like the standard version, everything is still produced by Deafpad. Tehondi plans to release 3 albums in 2025!

Q: Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?

To create and release my ultimate album... "Truth Ain't Dead." It was the very 1st concept I ever had album wise since I believe 11/12 years old. Everything else just spawned along the way.

Q: What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why?

DIFFICULT TO SAY, but with 30 seconds to think, I would say Dear Agony (Breaking Benjamin),  MBDTF (Kanye West) and Raw (Hopsin). Those albums touch my soul the most growing up. They embrace the light and dark. They all had a strong point to prove.

Q: Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special.

I remember sitting on my bed at my basement apartment in Hyde Park, Chicago listening to the instrumental. I turned off the lights and focused all my life energy into channeling the hardest poetic lines I had ever wrote thus far... now it exist 4ever

Q: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.

My 1st album "Become The Savior" was recorded in the same room (and closet) that Juice Wrld recorded his blow up single "All Girls Are The Same"... Salute to Monark.

Q: What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?

My 1st show ever I had less than 10 people in attendance. Venue had a capacity of 200. I F*CKING KILLED THAT SET. Proud I saw it through! J Hitz, DJ Skoli, K.E.N and my bro's from the band 8:33 were there on that December 3rd.. ask em about it!!

Notable Media Mentions

“This new song displays Tehondi’s skills on the mic. In all aspects of the track Tehondi has a great presence; his bars, his chorus, and his energy all are very impressive. The track is all about his grind and how badly he wants to be successful. He questions the listener if they are willing to pay the price to become successful like he has. If anything, you have to respect the hustle of this young artist. This latest track is a great listen and we are very excited to see what else Tehondi has in store for us next.” (RhymeHipHop in reference to Pay the Price single)

" His verses tell his own stories of struggle and determination that has brought him to where he is today. This is a classic head-bobbing hip-hop track that can play in the streets, and also has deeper intellectual meaning." (The Music Butcher in reference to Pay the Price single)
